At the beach in Spain

Ahhh...now we are just doing nothing but relaxing. The house is great. It's not too modern, just simple (reminds me of the cabin)...And the area reminds me of Jamaica...the vegitation, the narrow streets, half finished vacated buildings and empty lots here and there, a bit of litter around, and a lot of locals that don't seem to do too much but meander to the beach...I love it...all but the litter (it just feels so comfortable) The weather is a perfect 85 and a nice breeze. The water is warm and the people are friendly. We are here 5 days.I already think I could stay for ever! Well Elijah wants me to go back out and build a sand castle with him, after that, I will walk up to the market for food to cook dinner...this is what I plan to do for the next few days...thats all, so until Barcelona, peace.

Granada

We had a wonderful time in Granada! The highlight was deffinately the Alhambra! We spent an entire day there...hard to dicribe...a series of foutains and gardens among beautiful old buildings...that doesn't do it much justice, but we won't forget it!
The hotel I booked on line at special rate (cheaper than a hostal) turned ou to be very nice...pool and all. It was a great break from the 95-100 degree weather.
We drove all day yesterday and arrived in Callera (near Valencia) to the house I rented on-line...once again a great deal...only 55 E a night and there's room for all of you! Come join us!
I actually need to go enjoy the beach now (in our back yard...no more than 20 steps away from the door) I will have to write more later

Spain, beautiful, warm, Spain!

Well our first few hours here in Spain was a bit rocky. The last picture posted was of us in the police station of Madrid. I was pick-pocketed on the train on the way to our hotel...but it all worked out fine! And not just because we got a tour though the downtown plaza in the back of a police car!...but they caught the thieves and I actually got my money back!
At the end of that long day we went through the Prado Museum, strolled though the botanical gardens and had tapas and sangria in a small little cafe.
The next day we were out of there...well not so quick, but eventually we found our way driving out of the Madrid freeway nightmere.
Then there was Seviila! We had a little apartment close in to all the beautiful sites. It was right off a plaza...filled with sidewalk cafes full of people (including kids) until late into the night...there, we enjoyed lots of tapas, ice cream, 1atching the big "football" game (very lively) and TORREY'S BIRTHDAY!
The town is right out of a story book...the little narrow winding streets that lead to the most beautiful, grand cathedral and palace...The city is amazing...it's no mystery why Zack fell in love with it there while he was living there to study Spanish.
After getting our little green rental car out of the tight little parking spot on one of those narrow streets (where it sat during our entire stay in Sevilla) we got on the road again.
We got to Granada this evening...Susie's beloved second home while she was here back in her college days. 1e have yet to discover more here. :)

catching up re: London

Wow, London was beautiful! Much nicer than we expected...and so clean! (Moppind the sidewalks and scubbing trash cans was seen all over!) ;) Besides that Elijah was thrilled to see Big Ben,we all enjoyed a ferry ride down the river to the Tower Bridge, and seeing the changing of the gaurds at Buckinham Palace was something we won't forget! So much history all around...and a little modern fun too. At the end of a long day site seeing we inside a huge old historic building at the London Eye and found a big archade! (Bigger than bullwinkles) Elijah enjoyed the bumper cars! Last thoughts on London...expensive!
