Departed from Spain...Arrived in Rome

Well the rest our time in spain was great...we left yesterday afternoon. The four nights we spent in Barcelona were great. Mainly due to the wonderful family we stayed with. We rented a room from a family in there downtown apartment...husband from France, wife from west Africa and they had three beautiful children. The oldest, a girl Tors age lives in a different city, and unfortunately the 8 yr. old boy was with his grandpa in France, so elijah didn't have the potential playmate, but the youngest little 2 yr. old was a nice break from feeling the need to communicate in spanish...no need to communicate there. ;) The family had a wonderful party while we were there...a highlight of my trip so far! (no pics unfortunately) They had it on their private rooftop patio decorated with an african tent, mats and pillows everywhere. (which the kids and I also took turns sleeping out on as well) The party was so multicultural!...They served a big West African meal, their were about 25 people from France, India, England, Scotland, Canada, Africa, and a few others from the States as well. (maybe even more) Some women danced their traditional African and Indian dances...then they put on a little R&B and asked the Americans to dance for them...it was a blast!
The rest of our time in Spain was great as well...so many sites!!! We even made it to Mass at the Santa Maria Del Mar Church...by chance...or divine intervention. ;) Tor and I were grinding on each others nerves that afternoon. (a few mishaps in planning prevented me to see the sites I wanted to see and put me in a foul mood.) In our search for other sites to see we stumbled across the the Church. After sitting for a few minutes in payer, as we were about to leave, mass started...nice!
Now we are in Rome. We got here yesterday evening...just enough time to grab some amazing pizza, buy some groceries (for the apartment share/youth hostel situation we rented), and start planning our ongoing religious journey to the Vatican City.
